It’s not often I get to work on these 😂😂😂

Updated: Feb 16, 2023

it’s not often I’m fortunate to work on something as prestigious as a Sovereign Lawnmower, Self propelled no less. This one was a non-runner. It had a oil leak also from somewhere too. Oil was covering the magneto flywheel, but this wasn’t the fault, either was the E10 fuel that was in it or the gunk in carburettor, the compression was good, it was getting fuel, the ignition was in time and it had a spark 🧐. The coil resistance was good and the kill switch was ok.

I found the spark was intermittent and quite weak. I suspect the oil leak had got into the coil itself via a wire (capillary action) and caused a intermitten/weak spark. New coil and set up the gap and it was running again. Oil leak was a crank seal.
